Conditions

Chronic Venous Insufficiency

Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) occurs when leg veins have difficulty returning blood toward the heart. A healthcare provider should evaluate symptoms and recommend care.

An educational overview

Damaged or weakened vein valves can allow blood to pool in the legs. People may notice swelling, heaviness, skin changes, or discomfort. These signs can have many causes, so self-diagnosis is not appropriate.

Treatment is individualized. Providers may recommend lifestyle measures, medical compression, wound care, procedures, or — when clinically indicated — a pneumatic compression device. Knight Crest does not diagnose CVI and does not determine medical necessity.

How Knight Crest may help

If a clinician prescribes home pneumatic compression equipment, we coordinate the DME process: referral intake, coverage review, documentation support, delivery when applicable, and continued equipment questions.
